From Redemption to Revelation with Rachel Stern (Northeast Second Studio-4940 NE 16th)

A one-time practice can allow us to discover our truths in that moment, but it is a consistent
practice that invites us to really know ourselves. In this series we will navigate the 7-week
period between the second day of Passover and the Jewish Holiday of Shavuot to journey up the chakras. Through the practices of yoga, breathing, and meditation, we can move from our most basic needs like security, all the way up to our connection to source and oneness. For students of all levels, of all faith or non-faith backgrounds.

Cost: $85 non-member, $75 member

Storytime Yoga

Storytime Yoga for preschoolers and their parents. In these classes we will use all of our modes of learning to explore yoga, stories, and their themes. Each session will be based on a different, age appropriate story. Participants will be read the stories and then act them out through yoga poses and activities. This is a great way to introduce your child to yoga and allow them to use their bodies to integrate learning.

Yoga Born and Reborn - A Story of Desire and Manifestation (Northeast Second Studio - 4940 NE 16th)

Thursdays, March 6th - April 24th

This series is a story lover's heaven. We'll start wayyyy back before we ever started and go wayyyy further than we've ever gone. I'll tell of the re awakening of the pine forest sages by Shiva's impassioned burlesque. I'll share the secret reason behind the perpetual re-imagining of the universe by Nataraja (here's a hint - she has many names and many moods, and all of them are you). We'll meet a little known but anything but insignificant gender bending deity, dedicated to perpetuating the universe in sometimes surprising ways.

We'll choose two poses as a group to focus on for our eight weeks together, as a way in to the whole pantheon of poses.

Level 2. Alignment heavy. Notebooks welcome. This class is supported by an ongoing Facebook group you may use as you like to ask questions, review material, and get inspired.
(Up to two missed classes can be made up at Practice Lab, or at any of Alison's mixed level classes at People's)

Cost: $80 members, $96 non-members, $13 drop-in
