Kindra Leigh Flavin

she/her
Kindra is a creative spirit who finds magic in the self-discovering exploration of movement. Her shared practice has an emphasis on somatic intuition and illuminated visualization in order to reach into the deepest closeness of oneself.

Kindra first discovered yoga in 2014, initially as a way to heal and strengthen a chronic shoulder injury. The practice not only helped build strength and confidence for her injury but began to benefit all other aspects of her life. Using yoga as a tool for interpersonal meditation, Kindra began to open internal doorways that served to heal repressed traumas and reconfigure old patterns. Yoga became the safest place for healing and of dwelling in pure universal Love in the most needed times. Yoga became the threshold of stepping into power. Yoga became life.
Kindra received her 200 hour YTT in 2018 under the tutelage of Sarah Robinette, Matt Nelson, Renee Sills, and Eric Thuss at the People’s Yoga in Portland, OR. She has done multiple additional trainings including Sutra studies with Bhavani Maki and Restorative and Chi Gong with Jim Gallas. In Fall 2018 Kindra partnered with the Sola School to work with homeless and underserved women in the Portland community at Rose Haven Women’s shelter, where she still teaches at voluntarily on a bi-weekly basis. These classes have been instrumental in defining Kindra’s teaching modality of safely exploring the mind/body trauma correlation and curating a safe, trauma-informed setting for fundamental healing and growth.
Kindra teaches a playful, creative, dynamic asana flow joined with subtle alignment awareness, guided meditation visualization, and offerings of yogic philosophy for greater personal self discovery. All levels and life paths are invited to join.
