Richelle Ricard

she/her

Richelle is equal parts teacher and healer, scientist and mystic. For over 25 years she has been both a practitioner and teacher of sports medicine, therapeutic and clinical massage, energetic bodywork, yoga, anatomy, and meditation. She believes it’s her purpose in this life to help students better understand their own bodies and movements, their own perfect alignments in body and soul. She doesn’t just lead you through a sequence of poses, instead she uses myriad tools to assess and access a student’s individual potential, all while trying not to take herself too seriously.

Her classes are guided by the rhythm of the Moon, environment, social energies, and the moods of the gathered group. You’ll breathe in new ways, you’ll make some funny noises, you’ll probably giggle, and you may even weep. She aims to find the Nature of the moment and immerse in it fully and attentively.

Richelle is the author of The Yoga Engineer’s Manual: The Anatomy and Mechanics of a Sustainable Practice. It’s a guide for practitioners and teachers of yoga alike. When she’s not working, she’s usually eating, cooking, dancing, reading, digging in the dirt, or demolishing some part of her house in order to rebuild it in some beautiful new way.
