This yoga immersion is an invitation to yoga practitioners who are …
Practitioners can anticipate the study of yoga as a lifestyle. One of the intimate views we will look into is how the skeletal, muscular & joint systems relate to the foundational groups of yoga asanas: standing, twisting, inverting, seated & supine. This study will highlight foundational techniques & alignment of yoga asanas. It will provide practitioners knowledge to confidently develop a deeper practice at home, in group classes & however else they want to share their experience of yoga in the world. Our look into the foundation asanas & their relationship to bones, muscles & joints will cover: key concepts of anatomical movement & planes, benefits, contraindications, safe/intuitive sequencing & hands-on adjustments & therapeutic modifications.
Another lens we will use to study yoga will be focused on the blood, lymph & cerebral – spinal fluid in the body and how these systems integrate into the foundational asanas. A thorough study of the circulatory, endocrine & nervous systems relationship with asanas will include: major functions & make up of each system, how these fluid systems benefit overall health & healing, beginners view of somatic-reintegration through our fluid body, re-awakening our inherent psychic skills & how the fluid body links us to the natural waves of the universe.
The third lens used for study will investigate how the gross body foundation systems relate to our subtle & causal bodies in asanas, pranayama & sitting meditation.
The subtle body is home to the mind & intellect and the casual body is our doorway to our higher consciousness, the link from our individual consciousness to the collective. We will use the benefits of restorative / yin asanas, mantra, chanting & mudra to connect with our subtle & casual bodies and start to understand what psychosomatic medicine is, how the chakras relate & the use of cleasing Kriyas. This particular study lays the foundation for how yoga is a lifestyle choice, a path of life-long learning.
