Keeping it Healthy at TPY

Dear student community,

As the coronavirus has made it’s way into our beloved Pacific Northwest, we wanted to reach out and let you know about ways we’re working make the studio a safe place for you and remind you of ways that you can participate in keeping our shared space healthy.

  • Our regular daily cleaning regimen has been increased to include the sanitation of doors, iPads and blocks several times throughout the day. We use EPA recommended disinfectants.
  • We’ve also encouraged teachers to make some adjustments to their regular teaching to address student concerns. These include making sure all students face the same direction, when possible creating sequences that limit the use of props, and omitting the use of Lion’s Breath for the time being.
  • We’ve reached out to our teachers and staff to remind them to take the time off if they feel ill.
  • We strongly encourage you to bring your own mat from home if you own one. Though we will continue to have some rental mats available and make sure all mats are washed, this is an important effort you can take to be extra cautious.
  • We also encourage you to bring your own blankets and props if you love to use them.
  • Wash those hands, y’all! As you enter the studio and after class. Keep it fresh!
  • If you feel ill, we hope that you’ll take those feelings seriously and take time to recuperate at home and protect the health of others.

We’ll continue to monitor the recommendations of public health authorities. And, if you’re concerned we encourage you to check out the CDC’s website for up-to-date details. Based on their current recommendations we expect to continue to hold a full schedule, but we encourage you to keep an eye on our website schedule where any schedule changes will be immediately available.

Sending you all love and sunny wishes for full health…
